Tina Yack - CSI Fellow - Vitae 41KB

Tina currently works as a research biologist at Hubbs-SeaWorld Research Institute in San Diego.  Her focus is on applying new and innovative technology toward conservation and management challenges. These applications involve work on various projects spanning a diverse subject matter including killer whales, manatees, the Mexican spotted owl, northern fur seals and most recently, the American marten and northern goshawk.

Under supervision of Dr. Ann Bowles, Tina is currently conducting a noise impact study for three collaborative projects in the Tahoe Basin, Plumas, and Lassen National Forests, entitled; “The Effects of Off Highway Vehicles (OHVs) on the American Marten and Northern Goshawk." Tina is responsible for measuring exposure to OHV noise in varying habitats and analyzing all of the acoustic data. In addition, she has recently participated in a Killer Whale Research Cruise and will be working with Tom Norris in an upcoming Arctic marine mammal  bioacoustics survey.  She is currently a Ph. D. student in the UC Davis/San Diego State University Joint Doctoral Ecology Program.
