Anton
Kuznetsov has been interested in biology and ecology since childhood.
After graduation from school, Anton decided to devote his life to nature
and in 2001 he entered the Far Eastern State University of Humanities
specializing in biology and geography. Anton graduated from university
in 2006 and continues post-graduate studies specializing in geoecology.
Anton is an instructor of botany at the Far Eastern State University of
Humanities and simultaneously a post-graduate student and an employee of
the hydro-ecology and hydro-geology laboratory of the Institute of Water
and Ecological Problems.
Anton has participated in many scientific expeditions. In the summer of
2005 he joined an expedition down the Amur River. The main aim of the
expedition was to study the influence of big cities on the Amur River
ecological system. The expedition goals were scientific and to
contribute to the protection of fauna and flora of the Russian Far East.
In 2004 he participated in the 52nd Students' Scientific Conference with
a report on botany "Flora of Tas-Yuriakh."
Anton
was a participant of two other scientific expeditions supervised by the
Far Eastern Branch of the Academy of Science in Russia. One of the aims
was to study the influence of gold mining on northern ecosystems. Anton
studied flora in the vicinity of Khabarovsk and gathered a herbarium for
the botany chair collection. He also worked at the Pasvik Preserve, in
the Russian Murmansk Territory. The herbarium collected there became a
part of the collection of the Far Eastern State Humanities University.
His report "The study of the Amur tiger realm in the Khabarovsk
Territory" was well received. Anton is eager to contribute to the
protection of nature all over the world.
